Frequently Asked Questions
About PVC Strip Curtains

01. Is the price of PVC strip curtains calculated per square meter (m²)?

No, that is a common misconception. The price is determined by the width of the strip (20 cm, 30 cm, etc.), its thickness (2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm), the overlap allowance between strips (overlap ratio), and the selected mounting system (material type, whether sliding or fixed). To provide you with the most accurate and cost-effective quote, simply provide us with the door’s width and height measurements along with the environmental and usage conditions.

Commonly known as “butcher’s curtains,” these products are PVC strip curtains specifically manufactured for food establishments, delicatessens, and butcher shops. They comply with food safety regulations, are odor-free, and easy to clean. At Pozitif Servis, we recommend our antibacterial and food-contact-approved strips for these applications.

Our yellow curtains, in particular, have a “repellent” effect on flies and other insects thanks to the wavelength of light they emit. The overlapping strips create a physical barrier that prevents flying insects, dust, and birds from entering.

“Food Contact” is an international certification that verifies a material will not leach any harmful chemical substances into food when it comes into contact with it. Pozitif Servis is the first supplier in Turkey of certified PVC strips bearing this certification and a cold stamp. It is a legal requirement and a guarantee of health safety for food businesses.

The strips can be easily cleaned by wiping them down with warm water and a suitable non-abrasive cleaning solution. In food production areas and high-traffic areas, establishing a regular cleaning schedule helps maintain hygiene standards and ensures the strips retain their shape over time.

Yes, standard curtains can harden at sub-zero temperatures and may crack or break. For cold storage facilities, shock freezers, and frozen storage areas, you should use our “Polar and Super Polar PVC Strips” (Low-Temperature PVC Strips). These specialized strips maintain their flexibility down to -40°C, do not crack, and ensure maximum insulation.

For doors with heavy vehicle and forklift traffic, we recommend our “Reinforced (Ribbed) PVC” strips. The raised ribs on the surface absorb the impact generated during friction and prevent damage to the curtain. As a result, PVC strip curtains can be used for a longer period of time.

Yes. We offer “welding PVC strips and sheets” (Screenflex) that filter out harmful UV rays emitted during welding, protect eye health, and provide protection against sparks. This product complies with the ISO 25980 standard and is recommended for use to ensure workplace safety.

Yes, our systems are designed with a “plug-and-play” approach. Your order includes ready-to-use mounting systems (stainless steel, galvanized, or plastic) and strips. All you need to do is use a drill to screw the mounting rail into the wall or ceiling and hang the strips by hand. An installation guide is included with the products. You can easily complete the installation by following the instructions provided. If you prefer, you can also request installation services from our expert team.

10. Can PVC curtains be opened to the right or left when needed?

Yes. In addition to standard fixed systems, we offer a “Sliding (Rail-Based) and Accordion Mechanism System” that allows the curtain to be fully retracted to the side, particularly for large openings. With this system, you can keep the curtain open or closed as desired.
