Flame-Retardant Properties of Our Bird Nets

The bird nets offered by Pozitif Servis are manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polyamide yarns enhanced with special additives during production. This provides the following advantages:

  1. Self-Extinguishing: When exposed to a spark or flame, the net may melt but does not ignite and continue burning. Once the heat source is removed, the combustion process stops due to its chemical structure.

  2. Reduced Dripping: Standard plastic nets may spread fire by dripping molten, burning material. Flame-retardant nets minimize dripping, thereby reducing the risk of secondary fires.

  3. Compliance with Industrial Standards: These nets are typically manufactured in accordance with international fire safety standards such as B1 (DIN 4102) or equivalent. This provides a significant advantage in factory and warehouse insurance processes and occupational health & safety inspections.

  4. Reduced Toxic Gas Emission: In the event of a fire, the density of smoke and the amount of toxic gases released are significantly lower compared to standard nets.

Why Is It Important?

Bird nets installed over large areas are typically mounted at ceiling height and can cover the entire roof structure. If standard nets are used, even a small fire starting at the roof can spread throughout the building within seconds via these nets. Flame-retardant nets prevent this rapid spread, allowing valuable time for intervention and maximizing facility safety.
